How the Private Cloud has Revolutionised Multi-national Business?

0
0

In an increasingly competitive and evolutionary business climate, enterprise level IT infrastructures are often stretched to capacity. The introduction of the cloud had a hugely positive impact on this pressure, allowing businesses to move forward in ways they never could before. Now, without the addition of cloud hosting, large companies with a multi-national presence and workflow silos that demand IT across the entire workplace would be under siege.

Business Life Pre-cloud

Multi-national businesses in an era of IT before the cloud required significant internal IT resource, in every country where they had a presence. In most cases each business unit would be free to choose their own method of infrastructure, be it the companies own, external Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) or Software as a Service (SaaS). While this was commonplace in many businesses and made sense in the context of local technical knowledge, advancement and availability, it posed many issues that today cannot be tolerated.

Lack of standardisation across a business causes a wide range of problems, from productivity and communication to security and data storage. With such variations in infrastructure, programmes and software, simple tasks such as document management and file sharing become complicated at a multi-region level.

With locations all over the world, development of new processes and applications are hindered too. Each separate server requires maintenance, adding up to a significant amount of man-hours per month, and new programmes developed or purchased need to support a wide variety of platforms, making testing and deployment inefficient.

The Private Cloud

There are three types of cloud technology, each with specific merit for business. They are public, private and hybrid cloud, and whilst each of them has their own benefits the private cloud is undoubtedly the most beneficial to multi-nationals.

Rather than using a server which is shared by others, private clouds are built exclusively for an individual business. They allow the company to host applications in the cloud, while addressing concerns regarding data security and control, which is often lacking in a public cloud environment.

Private clouds can be hosted on the businesses premises or externally hosted by a provider, creating a tailor made solution and dedicated IT infrastructure.

Business Life Post-cloud

By utilising the private cloud, multi-nationals are able to streamline their global business, giving them the ability to meet complicated resource requests competitively.

A standardised IT infrastructure across the whole of the business eliminates many of the problems encountered pre-cloud. Businesses have a central server that can feed the whole of their business, regardless of location, meaning all units can run the same version of programmes and software, making communication, file sharing and data management easier, quicker and more secure.

The strain on IT resource is also removed through the use of a private cloud as updates and maintenance tasks only require a single action, rather than individually per environment, per server, per machine. This allows IT resources to be spent more efficiently, in future-proofing and developing the organisations infrastructure rather than fighting fires caused simply by a lack of standardisation.

One of the biggest benefits of adopting the private cloud is the ability to scale the service to suit current business needs. All businesses experience peaks and troughs in demand, which means additional ‘just-in-case’ server space is required in order to ensure peaks in volume can be dealt with efficiently, yet during periods of low activity server space isn’t sat idle. Private cloud hosting allows for quick scaling of a server, when necessary, providing a cost-effective, fluid option whatever the volume of traffic on your server.

The private cloud is already impacting and transforming the way multi-nationals do business. According to a report by Computer Weekly around 75% believe the ability to scale capacity and match it to fluctuating demand is the main benefit of the cloud and over 70% also cite faster provisioning for employees. At a time when an IT environment dictates much of what a large enterprise can do, having a dedicated private cloud infrastructure helps create and maintain a dynamic business, fit for purpose and fluid in delivery to the bespoke needs of every stakeholder.

Web Hosting: Tools to Make Life Easier

0

While all web hosting providers are different, there are some tools that you can typically expect to get when you sign up for their services. These tools are simply there to make life easier for you. In the past, you had to get all of the tools and software programs that you needed on your own, and the hosts just rented out the server space that you would use for the site. You can definitely still take this approach if you know what programs you want to use, but you are not forced to with modern companies, which provide many of the programs so that you do not have to buy them. The following are a few examples, but you should know that there are many other useful tools on top of these.

Web Design Programs

The most powerful tool for someone who is working on their first site is the web design program. This is a system that allows you to create a new site without knowing how to write a single line of HTML code. You can change the setup, choose a template, pick out your colors, and upload things like text, videos and photos. While this does limit your freedom a bit – there are not endless choices for templates – it can also lead you to a site that looks more professional than anything you would make on your own.

FTP Programs

An FTP allows you to upload your own files onto the hosting server. If you want to build all of the pages online, you may not have to use this, but most people prefer to build the sites on their computers and then upload them when they are done. If you download an FTP on your own, you then have to link it to the right host server, and you have to learn how to use it, which can simply be a waste of time, especially if things get confusing for you. A program that is offered by the host often lets you simply drag and drop your files, making it incredible easy to use.

FAQ Directories

While an FAQ is not technically a tool that you can use to built the site, you may find that it is the most useful thing that a web host provider offers you. They know that you have a lot of questions, which can all be answered quickly and effectively.

Why It’s Important To Use A Good Web Hosting Service

Web hosting is insanely popular in today’s contemporary world as it lets companies or individuals post their sites onto the ocean of Internet. A website is just a drop in the ocean. It is so amazing to see the business of Internet grow in the last one and half decades. In a nutshell, Web hosting means websites are hosted and stored on the server for the users to fire them up, have access and use. When a person wants to visit your site, he just has to type in your website address in his device’s browser. Their computer or mobile device will contact your web hosting server and then have access to your website. You have to buy the domain for most of the web hosting companies to provide you their services.

Choosing to host your website on a HDD or SSD is also your choice. If you’ve a static website, HDD is your best bet but if you’re running a business website selling things, then SSD is your best option just because it gives you great speed, but it does come with an expensive price tag.

There are plenty of reasons why you want to invest in a good web hosting service. Let’s discuss them.

Web security: Web security is the most important reason to go for a good web host. Once you have a website up and running, you want to make it as secure as possible for your users to have trust and you don’t want to lose it. This is of paramount importance if you’re selling stuff through your e-commerce website. People will be entering their credit card details all the time and you don’t want to ruin the entire experience by choosing a bad unsecured web host.

Bandwidth and Speed: A good web hosting service offers excellent bandwidth and speed, which is critical for your business. Nobody wants to use a website which lags and slows down at critical moments.

Great technical support: One way to recognize a  good web hosting company is through it’s technical support. A good web hosting service always has their support team up and running 24X7. If you happen to run into a glitch regarding your site, they should be able to solve it in no time. If your site goes down often, you might lose a lot of revenue.

Negative effect on your SEO rankings : If you’re into content marketing, your top priority must be your SEO rankings. A good web hosting service means your site is accessible always and you are searchable using keywords. If your site is down and out, your ranking is in danger and is adversely affected. You might also consider SSD hosting for this as it speeds up your website and the customers have hassle free experience.

These are some of the most important reasons on why you cannot afford to go for mediocre web hosting services. Always opt for a quality web hosting service to have a healthy business running for you.

Choosing the best cheap web hosting: What makes web hosting great?

Having a great web hosting site within the reach of your budget is a bit of task, especially if you have just started with web hosting.

To get the most out of it, you would need to identify your expectations first. For example, if you have a website heavy on visual characteristics, you would not want to go with a shared web hosting with very limited resources.

You should be clear on what kind of website you want for yourself- ‘Personal’ or ‘Commercial’.

Thereon, you can proceed and decide on other important features you’d require. Here are just a few of many types of web hosting options:

  • Shared Hosting
  • WordPress Optimized
  • Cloud-based
  • Dedicated Server
  • Reseller
  • VPS (Virtual Private Server)

To ensure you get the most out of your web hosting services, here are few of the things that you would need to assess

  1. What constitutes your cheap web hosting?
  2. How important is web building tools apart from web hosting services provided?
  3. Is managing and increasing web traffic your primary objective?
  4. Do you want to focus solely on the cost?

Assessing what you want and segregating accordingly is the first step towards getting cheap web hosting.

What to expect from budgeted web hosting plan?

A reasonable uptime, efficient customer support, webmail and email services, sufficient bandwidth, relevant features, and good speed should top your checklist.

Choosing a great web hosting site and a plan that fulfills your needs is the bottom-line.

Here are some of the features you should be looking for:

24/7 Customer support is must

It is essential to have immediate assistance if something goes wrong on your website. How quickly you are able to resolve your issues depends on the quality of customer support.

There is one customer-oriented web hosting provider which stands out from the most – SiteGround. They have set benchmarks in terms of providing quality customer support. The representatives are reachable 24/7 through chat support, ticket support as well as phone support. SiteGround reviews are calling them the pioneers in providing quality customer service!

What surprised me the most, was their proactive method of contacting their customers as soon as they purchase the account, in turn helping them to set up their first website on SiteGround. That is something I have never seen another provider do, period.

Security and Backup

This is important to consider because you won’t like a messed up scene of a crashed website or your site being hacked. Protecting the server to safeguard your web files etc. to not get harassed by unethical hacking, should be a part of their web hosting plan.

How the web hosting companies handle the security aspect, must be gauged. Read reviews, go for expert advice and then choose accordingly. Also, saving your important (if not all) files and pages is a point to take note of. Backing up your site, databases should be a must-have-feature of your web host provider. This makes sure your site has all the nitty-gritties clear, making your website an easy experience for everyone. SiteGround, Hostinger, Bluehost; all these names are known to provide top-notch and secure hosting services with backup.

Bandwidth (scalable)

When your website grows, increased traffic generated is the green indicator of this phenomenon. Your web host services should include scaling this growth.

Upgrading accordingly to accommodate your traffic is a thing you must look for, in your web host services.

A scalable bandwidth is an important feature your web hosting site must brace you with.

Choose a hosting plan that allows you to maintain increased traffic at clear costs. Additionally, always make sure that your web hosting company provides you the required bandwidth, in the pre and post phases of your site’s traffic growth respectively.

Bandwidth thus, forms an important component of your web hosting services.

Superb Server Uptime

An ideal server uptime is 99 to 100%. A great recovery speed with a consistent performance exemplifies superb server time.

While it is a fact that no web host can provide a level of 100, you must not compromise if they don’t tally with the set standards of Uptime.

A rating of 4 and more with no downtime issues is a catch you must find in your web hosting plan.

Hostinger is an excellent hosting company in this aspect. The company has a documented 100% uptime with a few exceptions.

Storage

The truth is you don’t need anything unlimited as your storage option. But, if any of the companies out there is providing it- go for it!

Just remember these terms and conditions:

  1. Do not choose your web host based on the aspect of storage alone.
  2. Make sure that your web hosting plan has a high storage to comply with your site’s needs.
  3. Rent out only the adequate storage space for your website to grow.

Store what you can utilize and pay for services that really matter for your site.

Hostinger and Siteground offer different plans/packages. You can choose one depending on your website’s storage needs.

Cost

Finally, you can decide on the budget factor. Go for a comparison of the web host provider’s monthly and yearly plans.

Also, take into account the nature of plan, the kind of services provided, hidden costs etc.

Cheap web hosting is possible. Be sure to look at the right place.

There are several companies which might fulfil this need of yours. Hostinger is one of them which is favoured by people all over the world. Pricing plays an important factor when it comes to choosing your hosting account. Hostinger offers a lot of plans which you night select according to your taste as well as budget. It also has a free basic plan if you don’t want to invest a lot of money at the beginning of your project. The lowest tier plan is offered at a bargain price. The VPS pricing of Hostinger is pretty impressive. It is appealing to those people who are budget friendly.

Even though Hostinger’s key feature is it’s affordability, it has plans which are available and similar to other hosting companies’ plans. Even though the lowest tier plan is cheap, there are limitations to the computing power.

Easy To Use

You need to know how to manage your hosting account. When you are new to this industry, you need to gather a lot of experience. Hostinger computed all the services that are needed to manage your hosting account. It provides an intuitive as well as a highly accessible package.  There are several aspects which you need to look after to run your blog or website. There are different layouts as well as access levels which are provided by different companies.

Even though Hostinger is preferred by several customers, it sometimes has a tough time when one compares it with cPanel. CPanel is said to be the golden standard.

Uptime Guarantee 99%

Hostinger provides top-notch service. It is rated as excellent when it comes to supporting as well as reliability. Hostinger vouches for 99 percent Uptime guarantee. If you don’t get whatever they provide, then you can get compensation for it. Hostinger never fails to impress us, but if it can’t provide the service it offers, the customer can demand a 5% deduction in the hosting fee issued by this hosting company. Hostinger has invested in top quality hardwares. The company is built on a cloud network. It ensures prime time availability and always-on websites.

However, Hostinger offers a lot of plans and the basic plan which is free, doesn’t provide with 99% percent uptime as it does in case of other plans.

Responsive 24/7 Global Support

The responsiveness of a hosting company is often biased. It differs according to the client base. But this type of behavior is not seen when it comes to Hostinger. It is an unbiased hosting company which provides 24/7 global support. It has a well equipped support team. Hostinger also has tutorials which help not only with the basic knowledge but also with the experienced we developers to solve issues like finding a docker. The customer can find information which they require in the company’s knowledge base. You can also issue an online ticket to quench all of your queries. It, however, doesn’t have phone support.

Conclusion

You might find several hosting companies online, but you need to select the right one for your blog or website. Whether you are an experienced blogger or you are just starting out, you need to invest a lot of time in making the right decisions. If you don’t pay enough attention to the hosting account that you will be using, it will later give rise to a lot of problems. You will not have enough uptime, and your resources will be drained. Your competitors will benefit from every small mistake which you will make.
